This week we’re highlighting instructor Erica Canlas! Tune in Friday, September 14th as she takes over Wilson’s Instagram Story!
Erica is a local girl, she grew up in Ashland, and then attended Mizzou. She moved to St. Louis for four years post-college, but returned when she met and married her husband Ben. They live in Columbia and have 3 kiddos, Ava-12, Tate-8, Nora-5. Her degree is in Parks and Recreation, and she has a background in aquatics. She began teaching aqua fitness classes in college, and then started again after becoming a stay-at-home mom. She started at Wilson’s in 2014, subbing aqua classes and then transitioned quickly to Fusion and Yoga.
She has taken Yoga Fit levels 1-4, anatomy & alignment, seniors and kids. She loves that yoga is for everyone and enjoys both taking yoga classes and leading others in the practice! Yoga has been a game-changer for her. She loves the physical practice but even more so, the mind-body-breath connection that it cultivates.
Erica enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves summertime more than anything. She loves the sunshine, swimming, beaches, floating and boating! She is not ready for fall and says you can keep your cooler weather, shorter days, and pumpkin-spice everything 😉 One thing you may not have known about Erica, she once played in a donkey-basketball game in high school. She rode a donkey around a gymnasium while attempting to play basketball. It definetly happened.
Tune in to get a sneak peek into her life Friday or join her in class for Chair Yoga, Yoga, or Fusion Hot 60!
