*Specialty Classes are $7.50 + tax for any Wilson’s member and $15.00 + tax for non-members. HH = Happy Hour Classes are $5.00 + tax for members and non-members.

  1. Please bring a water bottle to all classes to stay hydrated.
  2. Yoga mats are required for yoga and barre classes.
  3. Aerobics specific shoes are recommended for cardio classes and S.P.D. cycling shoes are recommended for cycling classes.
  4. Schedule is subject to change due to low attendance, instructor injury or instructor availability.
  5. Inclement weather policy: Please call ahead for changes to due weather.
  6. Classes have been set up to complement each other. Please feel free to attend more than one class to achieve overall fitness.

*SPECIALTY CLASS ENROLLMENT:  (Regular classes do not require enrollment)  Advanced booking is encouraged for Specialty Classes and is available one week prior to class.

  1. Enroll online or at your club.
  2. No refunds are given for cancellations less than two hours prior to class time.
  3. If you have not enrolled prior to arriving at the club, you may be placed on a waiting list until 5 minutes before class begins.
  4. Once you arrive at the club, please check in at the front desk and receive a wrist band which will be collected by the instructor prior to the start of class.
  5. All participants must have signed in 5 minutes prior to start of class to ensure their spot. This is for your safety to get acclimated to the heat as well as to open space for those on the waiting list. If you have not checked in 5 minutes prior to class, your spot will be given to the next person on the waiting list and no refunds will be given.
  6. For those whose membership includes unlimited free specialty classes, a cancellation fee of $5 will be assessed to your account for any class cancelled less than 2 hours prior to class. A $5 cancellation fee will also be assessed if you are too late to attend or don’t show up for class.

Nikki has been with Wilson’s since 2012.  She is a Certified Personal Trainer and heads up the Kickboxing program at the MAC.  While Nikki shares the same last name as Wilson’s, she is not in the Wilson’s family… but the gym is like a home to her.  Not only does she teach many classes and train many clients (adult and youth), she is also the head coach for the MAC Shark swim team.

Nikki grew up immersed in sports and fitness.  No matter the age or ability, Nikki strives to help everyone become better versions of themselves.  Her clients/students are the most positive things in her life, along with her dogs and beloved KU basketball team, of course.  Not only does she motivate, instruct, and support her clients, she says her clients help her just as much.  They are a big part of her life and after a debilitating injury in 2014, they continue to show tremendous support.  “It’s the community that really sets the “job” apart.”

If you’ve ever trained with Nikki or been to one of her Kickboxing classes, you know she won’t let you get away with anything.  Tough love is her specialty, although she does have a soft spot for her two Shih Tzus, Princess Samoa and King Capias.

Betty is certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) in Group Fitness, Les Mills in RPM and BodyVive, and has trained for BOSU and TRX. A fixture at Wilson’s Fitness since 1996, her teaching career began in the early 80’s. She’s taught multiple formats, including step, ‘slide’ and group racquetball and currently teaches RPM and BOSU along with Hot Barre in the hot studio.

Though Betty was athletic as a child, her real start with fitness began when she was 29. After having her first child she began jogging to lose weight. Then she started running races. Then marathons, including the infamous Boston Marathon. She  also played competitive women’s racquetball, biked the MS 150 and took aerobics classes. Betty chose to become an instructor when coaxed by an instructor to channel her passion for working out. “I love sharing the knowledge I have acquired along the way and watching people see that fitness is fun; it gives you energy and makes you feel great!” She wants her members to get excited about living a healthy lifestyle and be good examples for their families and friends, too.

What Betty loves most is motivating people to believe they have an inner athlete, that they can become fitter, and it is never too late! Since she was almost 30 when she began, she inspires her participants simply by walking the walk. “If I can inspire just one person to get healthier each time I lead a class, then I am fulfilled. I have done the job that I love so much.”

Lisa holds certifications in Les Mills BodyStep, BodyPump, BodyCombat, BodyFlow, BodyVive, BOSU and Practical Pilates. She has completed YogaFIT Levels 1, 2 and 3, and is also certified by the American Council on Exercise in personal training. She began her fitness journey after the birth of her second child, taking aerobics classes at a local college. For 20 years she could be found on the front row, changing her body, getting stronger, and loving the social aspect of working out; making lifelong friends in the process. She took the leap to become an instructor when she moved to Columbia with her family from Austin, Texas in 2006 starting with BodyStep. In 2007 she joined the team at Wilson’s and helped expand the group fitness program one format at a time, each an exciting new adventure. She currently teaches BodyPump, BodyCombat and BodyFlow and works as the Assistant Group Fitness Manager.

Lisa is a former vocalist and music therapist who brings her love of music and passion for fitness together to motivate her clients, inspiring them to reach their ultimate potential. “I love the electricity that happens when people aspire, together, to conquer their challenges. The moments when the whole room is working hard, when members reach heights they thought were unobtainable, those are the magic moments.” Lisa says the most rewarding thing about teaching is making a difference in people’s lives. “If people walk away from my class feeling empowered, feeling good about themselves, there is no better success.”

Debbie started teaching at Wilson’s in 2017, but has been an instructor for over 25 years.  She is an ACE-Certified Personal Trainer, and holds certifications in Les Mills BodyAttack, BodyPump, BodyVive, CxWorX, RPM; Arthritis Foundation water aerobics; NDEITA Group Fitness; and FiTOUR Group Fitness.  She is currently teaching BodyAttack, BodyPump, and RPM.

Debbie is a veteran when it comes to exercise.  A graduate of Central Missouri Methodist College, she was later inducted into the Hairston Athletic Hall of Fame for accomplishments as a student athlete in both track & field and basketball.  She served in the United States Army Reserve and received four Army Achievement Awards for her accomplishments on the Army Physical Fitness Test.

For Debbie, teaching group fitness was the best way to stay in shape after collegiate sports.  She likes how the people work together for one common goal:  to get fit and stay fit.  Debbie’s exuberant inspiration motivates people to achieve their maximum potential in fitness!

This barre inspired workout is one of the fastest, most effective ways to burn calories and get toned! Yes, Hot Barre is centered around a ballet barre and inspired by the workout routine by ballet legend Lotte Berk, but the barre is simply there to provide stability, balance, and support as you move through exercises that target the core, glutes, arms, and legs. No dance experience necessary, you just need to know these three numbers: 95 degrees, 45 minutes, 800 calories! Not recommended during pregnancy. Please consult your physician.

Cassie has her YogaFit Level 1 certification and currently teaches Hot Barre and KettleworX at Wilson’s. Growing up, she was active in dance and cheerleading. She got involved with group fitness and running when her best friend passed away from ovarian cancer at the age of 28. She has completed several races, half marathons, and trail races. In 2018, another instructor encouraged her to go for her aspiration of becoming an instructor so she did!

“Teaching is a great way to be a better version of myself.” Cassie has two children, ages 4 and 2, and its very important for her to stay active and healthy, especially with them watching. Working out has always been a great stress reliever and a way to clear her mind… which is necessary for her sanity! She loves teaching because she wants to provide that stress relief for others. She attended Wilson’s group fitness classes for years and has always found it motivating to work out in a group setting and push yourself with your friends. “Wilson’s has amazing members that help make the classes fun.”

Darla Tharp is certified in Les Mills BodyAttack, BodyFlow, and BodyPump, and has been teaching at Wilson’s since January 2017. She developed a love of fitness, sports, and the outdoors at an early age.  In middle and high school, Darla participated in softball and basketball, ran as a sprinter on the track team, and took dance classes for fun.  In college, she continued to play softball and had a regular fitness routine that included running and resistance training.  After college her focus shifted to half marathons and triathlons. “I really enjoy mixing up my routine and trying different types of physical challenges which brought me to Wilson’s group fitness.  Attending classes in addition to running, biking, and swimming is a great way to increase strength, stamina, agility, and flexibility.”

Because four of Darla’s passions are physical fitness, music, teaching, and socializing, becoming a group fitness instructor was a natural fit. She loves helping others to reach their fitness goals and maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle. “I feel blessed to be able to teach classes to the beat of funky music while being immersed in the energy of the wonderful people around me.  It is a great way to challenge my own fitness capacity as well as those who attend class.”

When Darla isn’t in the gym, she’s either doing scientific research at the University of Missouri or is at one of her son’s many sporting events.

Kelly likes to move it, move it. Being on stage is as natural as breathing for this Southern California girl who grew up dancing, but she says, “At the end of the day I’m just happy, ordinary me. Most people would find me boring.” Anyone who knows her would beg to differ.  There is nothing boring about Kelly, on or off the stage.

She taught her first class at Club Woodrail in 1999 and has been teaching at Wilson’s since 2002. Kelly is certified in Les Mills BodyJam, Aerial Yoga. Pilates, and TRX, and currently teaches BodyJam, Aerial Barre, Studio Barre, Sweat & Stretch, Advanced Strength, and Cardio Lengthen & Strengthen.

Kelly enjoys bringing the fun of exercise to a group of individuals who are there for self-improvement. “Learning that we can sweat and smile at the same time makes the thought of going to the gym a treat instead of a chore.” She also feels teaching holds her accountable to maintain her own personal level of fitness and professionalism, and she strives in each of her classes to make a positive impact on someone’s day. While Kelly loves much about her job, her favorite thing is that teaching has given her the very best friends in her life and experiences she treasures.  Coming together with those who share a similar mindset defines her very life. “The relationships I’ve made are priceless.”

For Travis, fitness is a way of life. A tennis player from a young age through high school, he now actively participates in triathlons. As of October 2018, he has completed 30+ triathlons of all different distances, including two Ironman distance races.
Travis uses indoor cycling and yoga to train for races year round. In RPM and Flight, the group atmosphere, the upbeat music, and the variations in the releases/profiles make the workouts challenging yet fun. Yoga has improved his overall lifestyle by reducing stress, reducing his chance for overuse injuries, and improving his mental focus.
When Travis decided to become certified to teach Les Mills RPM, Stages Flight and Yoga, he combined his cycling knowledge with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training to become an authentic and well-rounded instructor with much to offer his members. Now he enjoys helping others reach their goals, facilitating fitness to enrich their lives the way it’s enhanced his own. He’s been teaching at Wilson’s since 2015.  “Don’t be intimidated to try a new class at Wilson’s. The instructors want to help you through, so if a class interests you, try it!”

Barb has been participating in and instructing water aerobics for over 25 years,  since 1999 at Wilson’s. She’s certified with Aquatic Exercise Association and White Crow Yoga and currently teaches a variety of aqua classes. Through aqua exercise and regular attendance over the years, she’s built a tight-knit community whose connection extends beyond the pool and into friendship. From the gym, to one another’s homes, they gather regularly to celebrate birthdays and other special occasions.

Barb enjoys seeing the difference the water has made in people’s lives and the gains they’ve made in flexibility, balance, cardio strengthening and body conditioning. She keeps teaching year after year because aqua exercise increases overall health, for her and her members. ”After experiencing the benefits of water exercise, I wanted to share it with others. Water aerobics is for everyone!”

Fran, an icon in Wilson’s group fitness since 1991, teaches Step, BodyStep and Studio Barre. She’s certified through Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) in Pilates, through Les Mills in BodyJam, is currently pursuing her Les Mills BodyStep certification, and has in-house training in Barre. She is also a nurse, registered in 1979, and possessing a vast background in the medical profession. An RN, BSN – CEN CPEN, Fran is nationally certified in emergency nursing with a specialty certification in pediatric emergency nursing. She’s also an instructor for the AHA for Pediatric Advanced Life Support as well as for the Emergency Nurses Association for Trauma Nursing and the American Heart Association.

Fran first started teaching at Body Works in Columbia in 1983, joining the Wilson’s team in 1991. To her teaching she brings knowledge of anatomy, human physiology, body mechanics, and injury prevention and treatment. “The best thing about instructing is getting to meet all the different people in my classes. All have varied interested, jobs and backgrounds, but we all have one thing in common and that is the love of group fitness.”

Shannon Bahadori holds certifications in Les Mills Body Step and Body Jam, and Group Exercise Instructor through NETA. She is also PALS certified and house-trained in Wilson’s exclusive program, Hot Barre.

A former high school and college athlete, Shannon has over 18 years of strength training and fitness experiences. Passion for fitness and a desire to inspire others lead her to pursue teaching. “I enjoyed going to group classes after college but never thought I would become an instructor. Now I wish I hadn’t waited so long.” In 2014, she started teaching at Wilson’s after her first training, BodyStep. She loves helping others reach their fitness goals in a fun and positive atmosphere.

Shannon and her husband have two children; the family of four loves exercising together as well as being outside any chance they get. In her ‘spare time,’ she works as a nurse at MU Women’s and Children’s Hospital. “It just goes to show I love taking care of others. Being at the gym, teaching my classes goes along with that.” She currently teaches Body Step, Body Jam, and Hot Barre.

This sequence of postures is designed to work the whole body-muscles, joints, glands, & all internal organs. It offers the perfect mixture of strength & flexibility training to allow you to take your functional fitness to the highest level possible. The dynamic internal & external health benefits you will receive will astound and empower you. You will be guided through a series of held postures to build strength, a flow sequence that will get your heart pumping & a core & flexibility section to create complete harmony through your entire body. The room will be heated to 100 plus degrees at about 40-50% humidity to heat the body inside & outside to increase flexibility, release toxins, increase caloric burn & improve cardiovascular function for a total mind & body experience. The class is 90 minutes with an option to leave at the 60-minute mark. Not recommended during pregnancy. Please consult your physician.

Janette Keller holds certifications in Les Mills GRIT and has earned her 200-RYT, and currently teaches yoga and Fusion. She also holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Nursing and began her teaching career on the college level, instructing nursing students. Janette became an instructor in 2013 when she wanted to learn more about the classes and practices she loved herself. “As I started the process, sharing what I was passionate about came very naturally for me. My medical background adds significantly to the knowledge of exercise I bring to the classes I teach. I find joy in seeing and helping others love their fitness class too.”

Physically active her entire life, Janette seeks athletic adventures. Exercise as a hobby or in competition has always been important to her. For nearly 15 years she’s been a regular participant in group fitness classes and has been running just as long. Through her running career she’s met many significant personal goals including running the Boston Marathon. Group fitness classes have played a tremendous role in helping her achieve these goals.

She loves pushing herself physically alongside her members, motivating them through challenges, then together, celebrating the accomplishment of the finish. She particularly loves when she can help someone find a new way, a modification of a pose or an exercise that allows them to get the maximum benefit for their bodies. “The greatest reward for me is seeing a light of confidence or success come across their face when they realize they too can do it.” When she’s not at the gym, Janette enjoys spending time with her sweet family. She and her husband have three children, two of which, they’ve had the joy of adopting. She is also passionate about mission work.

Stefanie Zimny started at Wilson’s in 2017 after becoming certified in YogaFit Level 1.  She currently teaches Fusion, Yoga, and Kickboxing.  She has played sports all her life; she was most competitive in track and field and cross country and ran in college at UMKC.  Her emphasis was sprints and hurdles.  She currently still trains on the track and hopes to run Elite soon!

Stefanie became very interested in yoga and the way it made her body feel.  It seemed like a good fit with her active, healthy lifestyle, and she likes to share that with her classes.  She enjoys the challenge yoga brings her, especially when it’s a new class or release.  She likes to push herself out of her comfort zone.  Outside of Wilson’s, she has a wonderful and busy husband, and two little girls!

Mindful Movement is a basic introduction to ancient eastern medicine, but is in no way at odds with western medicine beliefs or practices. This class combines energy medicine, Qigong and elements from yoga to provide a gentle but effective hour of healing movement.  Participants will learn Donna Eden’s basic routine to bolster the innate ability to fight off infection and disease while correcting imbalances within the energetic body. Qigong uses simple repetitive movements that encourage strength and flexibility while freeing up the mental focus to go “within.”  Yoga influences will include basic aerial fundamentals—in the silk or on a mat—and will focus on breath and poses. Participants can expect to experience emotional and physical ” break-throughs” that will increase their ability to manage stress and discover greater joy in life.

Raven started her fitness career at the Mizzou Rec when she took her first group fitness class and fell in love. She took their instructor training course her freshmen year of college and started teaching in 2015. She is an ACE certified Group Fitness Instructor and has most of her experience teaching cardio/strength. After joining Wilson’s in the summer of 2018, she began her Yoga Fit training and is currently working towards her 200 hour practice requirement. She believes that group fitness classes are the best way to learn form, find new movements and poses, and motivate oneself. The energy from each class and the opportunity to lead and create new workouts while improving lives keeps her passionate about instructing!  She currently  teaches Total Body Workout.

Raven recently graduated from the University of Missouri and works full-time as the office manager and director of college outreach for The District CID in downtown Columbia. You can find her working out most evenings at the Forum or District Wilsons!

Lisa is a United States Water Fitness Association instructor, teaching in the water at Wilson’s since August 2005. She loves taking all kinds of fitness classes but it’s aqua that she loves to teach. Lisa strives to motivate her members, helping them achieve better strength, balance and become more toned. She loves being involved in keeping them working towards their fitness goals and seeing results along their way. She also enjoys being part of Wilson’s teaching staff.

“Water exercise is more work than it appears to be. It is a wonderful way to work your whole body. Water is a great support to your joints while you work your muscles. We have lots of fun in our classes while we exercise. The time goes by rapidly.”

Becky is certified in Les Mills BodyCombat, BodyPump and BodyStep and is in-house trained in various Barre formats. She loves being active and considers it her favorite hobby. A Wilson’s member for over 10 years, she started teaching in March of 2014. An avid runner, she has completed over 20 half-marathons and 4 marathons to date and continues to train in distance running.  “The classes I currently teach complement running by promoting posture, strengthening legs and core, and help the body learn to engage muscles more effectively.”

Currently, Becky teaches Barre Fitness, FIT (Females In Training), Barrelates, and loves the overall group fitness experience.  She became an instructor to help others enjoy their workouts while getting stronger. “I love being at the gym. I see exercise as rewarding and fun, and I want others to feel the same.”  The relationships and friendships made at the gym have been a huge bonus to feeling strong.

Emily became an instructor at Wilson’s in 2016, just after turning 40.  She is certified in Les Mills CxWorX and BodyCombat and currently teaches both, in addition to Total Body Workout (TBW).  She played sports into college and exercise was always important to her after that.  After getting married and having kids, it became more difficult to find time and motivation to work out.  Two years after her second son was born, she finally recommitted to exercise and loves the Les Mills classes and instructors (and the playcenters!) at Wilson’s.  In fact, several years ago, her husband was offered a job in a different city and the first thing she did was research if any gyms there offered Les mills classes!  Luckily, they stayed in Columbia and five years later, she got certified in her first program, CxWorX.

Emily loves the energy of group fitness.  She became an instructor because she felt that when one is going to classes all the time, it makes sense to keep the progression going.  This was also the time that Wilson’s was getting CxWorX for the first time so she was excited to get in on the ground floor of such a great program.  She enjoys developing friendships with other instructors and getting to know them through working together.  Emily loves motivating people to work harder and make changes to their fitness levels.  Also, she secretly loves having the mic and being able to talk for an hour straight – like one giant monologue/stand-up routine!

When she was pregnant with her first child, Meghan was 120 pounds heavier.  “I learned how quickly lifestyle and diet can get out of control.”  Meghan came to work (with her baby) in the Wilson’s playcenter in 2006.  Being in a supportive, healthy environment led to weight loss, fitness, and education.  In 2009 she became a personal trainer and was excited to help others.  She maintained a healthy diet and weight through her other three pregnancies, and her passion for exercise grew to encompass group fitness as well.

“I love motivating people to feel empowered and successful; to do something they didn’t think they could do, or be someone they didn’t think they could be.”  She also finds it uplifting to see the camaraderie that develops within a class, training session, and the gym community.

Adam Everson

Adam is a personal trainer, certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and teaches Kettle Circuit, TRX, and TBW classes.  He started at Wilson’s in 2018 but was an instructor for three years prior.  Adam has been active his whole life, but it wasn’t until 2015 when he decided to dedicate himself to learning more about the science behind exercise and fitness.  He is also a mental health professional with experience in exercise psychology.  His mental health training has provided insight into behavior change and motivation that he uses in his teaching.

Adam loves seeing people succeed and find enjoyment in exercise.  In his classes, he always tries to incorporate some level of education, whether its what something is, or why the class is doing it.  “Knowledge is one of the most empowering gifts you can give someone, so I always incorporate education as a means of empowering my class.”  The other part that is so rewarding about teaching is the social circle it develops.  “Just through shared experiences and proximity, you get to know the people you see every week for class without even meaning to. When someone is gone, you notice it!  So for anyone looking to find a program to stick it, I recommend coming to a weekly class!  You will begin to build those connections, and you’ll quickly find those friends will hold you accountable.”  Also, Adam enjoys a good laugh so expect at least a handful of jokes every time you take one of his classes!

Alissa “Ali” Wood has been a fitness instructor since 2012 and joined the Wilson’s team in 2017.  She is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and is certified in YogaFit Level 1, Les Mills BodyFlow, and Parisi.  Ali currently teaches TBW, yoga, BodyFlow, and Kickboxing.  She became an instructor because of the people; she wants to put something positive back into the world and spread knowledge.  She needs to give in order to feel a sense of purpose and she loves helping other people feel good.  Ali loves the after-glow of a good workout – when it’s finished and everyone is spent and they get the collective “ahhhh”.

A former middle school teacher and librarian, Ali loves to read and write, and never tires for learning.  She appreciates the challenge of goal-setting and thrives on creating anything from recipes to home decor… but wouldn’t call herself artsy – crafty, maybe.  For her, the creative process is the enjoyment, just like fitness!

Jenna Rose is certified in Les Mills BodyPump, BodyStep, Sh’Bam, and BodyVive. She’s been a group fitness instructor since 2000 when she taught step at Wilson’s in Jefferson City. Jenna has taught continuously since then, at Wilson’s in Columbia from 2000-2005 and from 2012 to present. Jenna currently teaches BodyPump and BodyStep.

Jenna decided to go into teaching because she loved taking group fitness classes and felt passionately about the benefits of exercise to mind, body and quality of life. “I wanted to share it with others and inspire them to make it part of their daily lives.”

Once she discovered and became certified in Les Mills classes, she’s never taught anything else. “I loved the professional choreography and great music the programs provide every quarter, as well as safe and effective workouts that deliver results.”

 

Sarah B is certified in Les Mills BodyCombat and BodyPump and has been an instructor at Wilson’s since 2017.  In 2014, she lost 30 pounds taking BodyCombat and BodyPump.  She earned her certification in BodyCombat in 2015 and never looked back!  She wanted to become an instructor to keep herself motivated to work out.  She was not an outgoing person before becoming an instructor and teaching allowed her to get out of her shell.  Being an instructor has truly changed her life.

Sarah likes to see her members push themselves to finish the workout.  The instructors challenging her is what hooked her on group fitness, and she hopes she can help members along their paths to wellness, too.  She loves to challenge her classes with more reps, heavier weights, etc., but is also a huge stickler for form; she recognizes when to pull back in a workout.  She hopes members will see her as a fun, challenging instructor who will encourage them no matter their fitness level!

Erica became an instructor so she could share her love of yoga, fitness, and movement with others.  She has been an instructor at Wilson’s since 2014, holding certifications in YogaFit Levels 1-4, Anatomy & Alignment, Senior Yoga, and Kids Yoga.  She currently teaches Fusion, Forever/Chair Yoga, and Yoga.

Erica began teaching classes in college, where she earned a degree in Parks & Recreation.  In addition to her extensive yoga background, she also has experience in aquatic fitness.  What Erica loves most about teaching is encouraging others to move their bodies and stay connected with their body, mind, & spirit.

Evann joined the Wilson’s team in 2018.  Holding her YogaFit Level 1 and Anatomy and Alignment certifications, she currently teaches Fusion and Hot Barre.  She has been practicing yoga for about six years and has loved dance since childhood.  Evann recently spent two years volunteering with an organization called The Young Americans, in which she also has The Young Americans International Music Outreach Tour Certification.  They take music and dance workshops to kids around the world.  In this, she was able to learn more about fitness and dance while teaching.

After moving back to Columbia to study at Mizzou, Evann wanted to become an instructor at Wilson’s so she could continue to improve her skills as a teacher, encourage people on their wellness journeys, and keep herself accountable to her personal fitness goals in a positive, active community.  She loves getting to meet people (who she wouldn’t have otherwise met!) and to empower them to continue pursuing long-term, healthy lifestyles in uplifting and fun ways.

Evann believes it is so important to take time to take care of yourself.  She is honored to be a part of that process with everyone that comes to a class.  Also, she loves getting to know people, so please feel free to say “Hi”!

Phillip has been teaching on the Wilson’s team since 2016, when he earned his Group Fitness and Les Mills GRIT certifications.  He currently teaches GRIT and Kickboxing.  Phillip became an instructor shortly after two other GRIT instructors talked him into it!  He regularly teaches early morning (5:30am) classes and is always inspired by his dedicated regulars who wake up so early to put in the work.  An Air Force Veteran, Phillip is no stranger to tough workouts!

This dynamic class uses the aerial hammock for conditioning exercises, flexibility stretches and skill building, including poses, sequences and inversions that students are able to combine for acrobatic fitness inspired flows. Haley is certified in YogaFit Level 1 and started teaching Aerial Hammock Sequencing and Conditioning at Wilson’s in 2018.  She discovered yoga during college, and aerial soon after.  She has trained in aerial silks, aerial hammock, aerial hoop (Lyra), and pole fitness.  She chose to become an instructor because she wanted to share her knowledge and passion for aerial.  “Aerial has given me strength and confidence that I would never have achieved with more conventional workouts.”  Through teaching, she is given an opportunity to share her knowledge with others with the hope that aerial can give them the same joy it has given her.

Haley loves watching her students grow; for her, there is nothing more exciting than watching a student meet a new goal or master a trick that they were unable to do the week before.  She wants her members to know that aerial is extremely challenging but it is also extremely rewarding.  It can be frustrating and difficult (especially in the beginning), but if you stick with it, not only will you gain strength and flexibility, you will also acquire a really unique and fulfilling skill.
