She is a 200 RYT, through Yoga Alliance, and has 100 hour specialty certifications in Yoga for Athletes and Warrior Yoga.  She also holds certifications Les Mills BodyAttack, BodyFlow, BodyPump and RPM; Stages Indoor Cycling and Flight; DK Body Pilates; and Animal Flow Level 1. She currently teaches BodyPump, RPM, Hot Barre, BodyAttack, BodyFlow, Fusion, Chair Yoga, Balance Board, and Warrior Yoga and takes personal training clients.

“I love motivating people to feel empowered and successful; to do something they didn’t think they could do, or be someone they didn’t think they could be.”  She also finds it uplifting to see the camaraderie that develops within a class or training session, and the gym community.

Chuck Archer

Chuck Archer

blankChuck started teaching spinning at Wilson’s in 1997, after becoming certified in Johnny G. Spinning.  Fitness has played a major role in Chuck’s life; he has been a triathlete, road runner, cyclist, weightlifter, baseball player, and wrestler.  Chuck first started working at Wilson’s at the front desk and would take spinning classes on his days off, but as an employee, he would have to give up his bike to a member if the class filled.  Tired of getting booted, he decided to become the instructor!

Chuck loves to push his clients, to make them work harder than they thought they could, and to see the results.  Plus, he likes being in control!  He wants his members to know that they are capable of way more than they think.  If they train hard and learn to control their doubt and anxiety, they can exceed their goals.

Amanda Mielke

Amanda Mielke

blankAmanda joined Wilson’s in May 2021 and holds certifications in Les Mills BodyCombat and BodyPump, and AFAA Group Fitness.  She grew up doing (and coaching) gymnastics and went on to cheer at the University of South Florida.  She began taking Zumba classes in high school and started teaching it right when she got to college.  Zumba opened her up to the world of group fitness and she fell in love!  She transitioned from teaching Zumba to more freestyle classes – bootcamps, HIIT, core, weightlifting – and later started teaching Les Mills.  She previously managed a rhythm based cycle studio and has always loved trying out new class formats.

Amanda wanted to become an instructor because teaching and leading has always come naturally to her; she was a gymnastics and cheerleading coach, and a high school math teacher.  “Becoming an instructor has allowed me to align my passion for health and fitness with my teaching experience.”  She loves the community that comes with teaching group fitness and has met some of her best friends in classes.  She feels that there is something so special about being in a room filled with people who are all working toward goals to become the best versions of themselves.

Amanda, her husband, Connor, and their three dogs, Stanley, Benny, and Charley, are new to Columbia and she’s very excited to get to know the members of Wilson’s!

Instructor: Tina England

Tina England

Tina England

blankTina got her start in fitness in the early 90’s as a group exercise participant and was invited to train as an instructor for a local health club in Amarillo, TX.  She started with aquatic exercise and delved into as many facets of that format as she could find, excelling as an instructor.  Through the years, she branched out to teaching various aerobics, strength and flexibility, bootcamp and HIIT style, yoga, and Pilates classes.  More recently, her interests lean toward the aerial arts and aqua.

Tina is certified in AEA, AFAA, ICSA Pilates, Moms in Motion, Hydrofit, and Arthritis Foundation.  She has been an instructor for 27 years and started at Wilson’s in 1992.  She currently teaches water aerobics, Pilates, yoga, aerial yoga, and aerial hammock skills.  Over the years, she has found that her overall health (physical and mental) is better and she is capable of so much more than others her age because she has stayed fit.  She loves teaching because of the interaction with her participants and seeing them evolve.  As they become stronger and more proficient, she likes to find new or different ways to challenge them and help them achieve their goals.  “Seeing participants’ smiles, hearing their success stories, and watching their confidence grow proves to me that I am making a difference in their lives.”

In her spare time, she makes cakes – big/small, fancy, fun, fondant, crazy cakes!  It started when her son asked her to make a soccer ball cake for his 11th birthday.  She thought, “Hey, I’ve watched a lot of Cake Boss – I’ll give it a go!”  Her background in graphic design and art transferred over nicely and she’s been creating fun, edible works of art ever since.

Wed

Kimberly Uffmann

Kimberly Uffmann

blankKim holds a certification with Les Mills in BodyJam, which she received in March of 2016. She began teaching for Wilson’s shortly after. “Dance has always been my form of fitness. I danced in high school, and after that, I took classes at MCB here in Columbia. When my class was cancelled, I found BodyJam.” It didn’t take long for Kim to realize she ‘needed’ to become an instructor, she just had to wait for the rest of her life to fall into place before she could make it happen. Her instructor, Kelly Lancey, was a big influence and encouraged Kim to go to training. It was in Kelly’s classes that Kim found a dance outlet where she could really let go and add her own flair. Now, as an instructor herself, Kim loves having the opportunity to encourage others just as she was encouraged. “I want them to come and sweat and get a great workout, but also to have fun, let loose, and put their own feelings into the movements.”

While Kim loves the music and the dancing, her favorite part of teaching is sharing all of it with an amazing group of people. “My Jammers are my family! We support one another both inside and outside of the gym. I can be having the worst day and when I get in that room with them I can feed off of their positive energy! I love hearing how they feel the same and that they ‘need’ their jam time, too!”

Kim is also a kindergarten teacher in Columbia and recently graduated from MU, obtaining her certificate for administration. She lives with her husband, Bryce and fur baby, Maize.
