CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Group Fitness will practice social distancing. We invite all Wilson’s members to workout at either the Forum or Rangeline location during this time. 

  • For Barre Classes, we will be providing therabands for sale. These will be available for $4 cash with Member Services.
  • For Aqua Classes, we will be providing noodles for sale. These will be available for $10 cash with Member Services.
  • Specialty Classes will be online for sign up as soon as we have them ready. For now, all others will limited and will be on a first come basis. Cycling participants will still have a sign-up with Member Services.
  • Please bring your own mat for Yoga and Barre Classes.
  • We will continue to offer and update you with a variety of online classes including Les Mills classes, Barre, Yoga, and Strength/Cardio Classes. 
Beginning January 11th, as we roll into the Winter 2021 Group Fitness Schedule- we will update the website each month with a variety of online class videos including Les Mills, Barre, Yoga, and Strength and Cardio Options. This page will be exclusive for Wilson’s active members and will require a login/password.

ONLINE CLASSES

SPECIALTY CLASSES & WHAT TO BRING

*Specialty Classes are $7.50 + tax for any Wilson’s member and $15.00 + tax for non-members. HH = Happy Hour Classes are $5.00 + tax for members and non-members.

Contact MEMBER SERVICES to find out how to add Specialty Classes (those marked with *) to your membership and enroll for free.

  1. Please bring a water bottle to all classes to stay hydrated.
  2. Yoga mats are required for yoga and barre classes.
  3. Aerobics specific shoes are recommended for cardio classes and S.P.D. cycling shoes are recommended for cycling classes.
  4. Schedule is subject to change due to low attendance, instructor injury or instructor availability.
  5. Inclement weather policy: Please call ahead for changes to due weather.

Classes have been set up to complement each other. Please feel free to attend more than one class to achieve overall fitness.

*SPECIALTY CLASS ENROLLMENT:  (Regular classes do not require enrollment)  Advanced booking is encouraged for Specialty Classes and is available one week prior to class.

  1. Enroll online or at your club.
  2. No refunds are given for cancellations less than two hours prior to class time.
  3. If you have not enrolled prior to arriving at the club, you may be placed on a waiting list until 5 minutes before class begins.
  4. Once you arrive at the club, please check in at the front desk and receive a wristband which will be collected by the instructor prior to the start of class.
  5. All participants must have signed in 5 minutes prior to start of class to ensure their spot. This is for your safety to get acclimated to the heat as well as to open space for those on the waiting list. If you have not checked in 5 minutes prior to class, your spot will be given to the next person on the waiting list and no refunds will be given.
  6. For those whose membership includes unlimited free specialty classes, a cancellation fee of $5 will be assessed to your account for any class cancelled less than 2 hours prior to class. A $5 cancellation fee will also be assessed if you are too late to attend or don’t show up for class.

blankA fitness instructor since 2015, Shelby is certified in Les Mills CxWorX and GRIT, Stages Flight, and YogaFit Level 1.  She currently teaches Fusion, Warm Iron Yoga, and Flight.  She chose to become an instructor because she thinks “Group Fitness is awesome – it is the best way to work out, and I wanted to be able to deliver that experience to others!”  She loves the participants in class and the energy they bring.  If a regular doesn’t show up, she automatically gets bummed out.  “They don’t realize I count on them as much as they count on me!”

Shelby played competitive sports growing up, and into her adult years she started to run marathons and compete in triathlons.  She has been fortunate enough to work with and rehabilitate people with cancer, Parkinson’s Disease, and other chronic illnesses.  She has a passion for what she does, but… in her dream life, she is actually a professional chef and coffee barista – she loves good food and coffee!

blankJoy holds multiple certifications including Les Mills BodyPump and Body Flow, Yoga Fit Level 1, and Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Group Fitness. She started dancing when she was six and continued through junior high. In high school, she moved on to tennis and swim team, and in college, she took many physical education classes such as bowling, dance and movement, swimming for conditioning, and beginning, intermediate and advanced racquetball. After college she missed ‘the sweat’ and vowed never to stop exercising.

She’s not sure how long she’s been at Wilson’s but knows it’s a long time because she taught through both her pregnancies, and as of 2016, her two boys are 24 and 27. Joy stays because she truly enjoys it. “I love interacting with clients, being a bit of a clown and having a good time. Fitness can be a ‘family’ activity and encouraging the class members is fun.” Joy loves the community of regular folks trying to stay active in a sedentary world. “I love changing the shapes of our bodies, calming our minds and having a good time.”

Joy currently teaches BodyPump, Total Body Workout (TBW), and Yoga. And she wants her member to know, when she’s singing BodyPump songs, she’s usually making up the words.

This barre inspired workout is one of the fastest, most effective ways to burn calories and get toned! Yes, Hot Barre is centered around a ballet barre and inspired by the workout routine by ballet legend Lotte Berk, but the barre is simply there to provide stability, balance, and support as you move through exercises that target the core, glutes, arms, and legs. No dance experience necessary, you just need to know these three numbers: 95 degrees, 45 minutes, 800 calories! Not recommended during pregnancy. Please consult your physician.

In addition, Catina holds multiple certifications including, American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Trainer, Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) Primary Group Fitness, Flight,  KettleWorX, Aircat Aerial Yoga Certification, Les Mills BodyPump, BodyAttack, BodyFlow, BodyVive, BodyJam, BodyCombat, BodyStep, RPM, GRIT, and CXWorX, AFAA Wave I and II, AFAA Circuit, AFAA Kickboxing, AFAA Yoga, AFAA Pilates, Extreme Bootcamp Challenge, Riding the Edge Cycling, BOSU, KrankCycle, TRX,  Pilates, Animal Flow Level 1, and Aqua Fitness.

Catina has always had a love for group fitness and when she was unhealthy and unfit, it was group fitness that gave her the commitment, sense of belonging, and accountability she needed to reach her goals. The instructors inspired her and she wanted to be that person who helped others find passion in health and fitness in a way that she was able to. Group fitness kick started her active lifestyle and since she has completed a triathlon and many races, and become an IFPA Figure Competitor, KettleWorX Master Trainer, and YogaFit Master Trainer. “I love the training process. I love learning new things and always growing and improving.”

In 2014 Catina opened the Hot Studios at Wilson’s and designed the new formats, Hot Barre and Fusion exclusively for Wilson’s. She continues to choreograph new material for these programs on a regular basis. She says it is through the connections she makes with members that she is able to make life-changing experiences for them as well as find growth in herself. Catina lives each day with gratitude, in such a way that brings santosha, Sanskrit for contentment, to her life.

The pool offers the ideal environment to challenge core stability. Participants can strengthen their cores and increase flexibility while experiencing a nearly gravity-free workout. blankCarey is certified in AEA (Aquatic Exercise Association) and teaches Aqua Core & More at Wilson’s.  Her background is actually in martial arts and she has been training and teaching that for 20 years.  She started taking aqua classes with her mom and when her favorite instructor left, Carey was encouraged to teach.  She loves teaching because she has met some really amazing people and enjoys getting to know them!

Strike a balance of breath, postures and flow in a room heated to 95-100 degrees with radiant heat to create “tapas” (healing for your body, mind and spirit). Come to this class to cleanse your body, lengthen and strengthen your muscles, calm and soothe your mind. This practice may include standing strength postures as well as arm balances so come and strike a pose! Not recommended during pregnancy. Please consult your physician.

blankLauren is certified in Les Mills BodyPump and began teaching it at Wilson’s in the spring of 2020.  Lauren grew up playing volleyball and running with the cross-country and long-distance track teams at her school.  As she got a full-time job and moved into adult life, she would occasionally run or do some other form of cardio, but never found something to do consistently… until she discovered the BodyPump classes at her local gym in southern CA and got hooked!  She and her husband quickly became “regulars”.  What she enjoys most about BodyPump is the ability to go as heavy or light as you need to with the weights, and the life-long journey it plays towards physical health.  “I am often in classes with people ranging from their teens to their 80’s.  It’s encouraging to see that this is something that can be incorporated into my lifestyle long-term.”

Lauren wanted to become an instructor because she enjoys encouraging people towards better physical, emotional, and spiritual health, and thought it would be a great opportunity to learn how to become a better coach.  What she likes best about teaching is meeting new people, and learning the new BodyPump releases!  She loves providing a fun, safe environment that encourages people to challenge themselves.

blankShelby joined the Wilson’s Group Fitness team in 2019.  She is a former Turbo Kick instructor, then also became certified in PiYo LIVE and YogaFit Level 1.  She fell in love with group fitness in college and has always enjoyed attending classes.  She decided to turn that love into teaching in 2016 and has not looked back.  “I am excited to bring my love of music and dance to Hot Barre and my passion for being in the present moment to Fusion.”

Shelby wanted to become an instructor because she loves sharing her passion for health and fitness with others. “No matter where a person is on their health journey, there is always a way for them to have a great time while being active and moving their body. I want people to enjoy fitness and find what works best for them.” What she enjoys most about teaching is meeting new people and encouraging them to do their best, but still have fun! Besides teaching classes, Shelby loves the outdoors and can often be found walking her dog or hiking trails both in and out-of-state.

This specialized, trauma-sensitive yoga class is ideal for all who have experienced any kind of trauma or high stress, but all are welcome.  This gentle, empowering practice allows us to learn how to free troubling emotions, persevering thought patters, chronic somatic tension, and hyper-vigilance through concentrated breathing and slow-moving asanas, as well as meditation and mindfulness exercises, in a safe and trusting environment.  No heat will be added.  **Free of charge to those with a military ID.

blankHannah is 500-RYT, with a 140 hour Specialty Certification in Yoga for Warriors. She currently teaches Aerial Yoga, Aerial 101, and Warrior Yoga, and is one of our Wellness Coaches.

Active throughout school, Hannah danced, marched in the band, competed in gymnastics, track and field, and cross country. In college she discovered roller derby, pole fitness, and aerial arts. When she became an instructor at Wilson’s in June 2015, she wanted to share her love for aerial arts and yoga, and remains passionate about continuing her education. Personally, she is expanding her horizons by training in various circus arts including contortion, corde lisse, and flying trapeze. Hannah also has a combined Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, and health science as well as two different minors in nuclear engineering. In addition to performing aerial arts and competing in pole championships, she works full time for the University of Missouri.

Hannah loves seeing breakthroughs in her students when, after working through a move in aerial, their faces light up. She also loves bringing the joy of yoga to her participants with no competition or expectation. “Yoga isn’t about if we’re flexible or strong enough; it’s about coming back to your center, finding your ground.” Hannah wants people to know instructors are here to help them grow in their journey of self-discovery. “Don’t be afraid to push yourself and step out of your comfort zone. Don’t let fear keep you from exploring what you’re capable of.”
