She also holds certifications in Oh Baby! She currently teaches BodyPump, RPM, Hot Barre, BodyAttack, Animal Flow, Kickboxing, and Pilates and takes personal training clients.

When she was pregnant with her first child, Meghan was 120 pounds heavier.  “I learned how quickly lifestyle and diet can get out of control.”  Meghan came to work (with her baby) in the Wilson’s playcenter in 2006.  Being in a supportive, healthy environment led to weight loss, fitness, and education.  In 2009 she became a personal trainer and was excited to help others.  She maintained a healthy diet and weight through her other three pregnancies, and her passion for exercise grew to encompass group fitness as well.

“I love motivating people to feel empowered and successful; to do something they didn’t think they could do, or be someone they didn’t think they could be.”  She also finds it uplifting to see the camaraderie that develops within a class, training session, and the gym community.

Adam Everson

Adam Everson

Adam is a personal trainer, certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and teaches Kettle Circuit, TRX, and TBW classes.  He started at Wilson’s in 2018 but was an instructor for three years prior.  Adam has been active his whole life, but it wasn’t until 2015 when he decided to dedicate himself to learning more about the science behind exercise and fitness.  He is also a mental health professional with experience in exercise psychology.  His mental health training has provided insight into behavior change and motivation that he uses in his teaching.

Adam loves seeing people succeed and find enjoyment in exercise.  In his classes, he always tries to incorporate some level of education, whether its what something is, or why the class is doing it.  “Knowledge is one of the most empowering gifts you can give someone, so I always incorporate education as a means of empowering my class.”  The other part that is so rewarding about teaching is the social circle it develops.  “Just through shared experiences and proximity, you get to know the people you see every week for class without even meaning to. When someone is gone, you notice it!  So for anyone looking to find a program to stick it, I recommend coming to a weekly class!  You will begin to build those connections, and you’ll quickly find those friends will hold you accountable.”  Also, Adam enjoys a good laugh so expect at least a handful of jokes every time you take one of his classes!

Kelsey Gibson

Kelsey Gibson

Kelsey is certified in YogaFit Level 1 and started teaching Fusion at Wilson’s in 2018.  She was always an active person (lot of gymnastics and cheerleading throughout childhood), then began working with a personal trainer after high school.  Her fitness addiction quickly grew!

Kelsey chose to become an instructor because fitness has made such a huge impact on her life and she wanted to help others have the same experience.  She thinks everyone has that “special instructor” that has influenced their life and she wants to be that person for someone.  She loves to see others thrive and reach their goals.

What Kelsey loves most about teaching is forming new relationships with her class members.  She finds it extremely rewarding that she gets to help them take 60 minutes out of their busy schedules to give back to themselves.  She is blessed to have a job where she gets to walk alongside others in their wellness journeys.  Kelsey’s other job is a massage therapist, so she thinks the two go together like Oreos and milk!

Megan Carter

Megan started teaching Aerial Yoga at Wilson’s in 2018, after earning her YogaFit Level 1 certification.  She’s been practicing yoga for about 6 years and also enjoys running and weightlifting.  She loves fitness and wanted to make it a larger part of her life by being an instructor to others.  She still teaches Aerial Yoga, along with Fusion and Prenatal/Postpartum Yoga.

Megan taught dance and show choir choreography while in high school and college.  She really liked that and missed the connection she got with her students, and so she knew she would enjoy teaching Aerial Yoga.  “Yoga has a special place in my heart and aerial has really helped my practice grow.”  What she likes most about teaching are her students; each has their own special skills and she loves seeing them grow in their journey.  She encourages others to never be afraid to try something new.  It may be scary at first, but it can change your life!

Instructor: Robin May

Thu

Robin May

Robin May

Robin is certified in KettleWorX, indoor cycling and TRX. Before becoming an instructor, Robin took spinning classes at Wilson’s in 2001 and fell in love with its intensity and cross training benefits. In high school she enjoyed competitive sports, especially basketball and volleyball. After marrying a runner in 1994, she slowly, but surely became serious about running. Starting in 2000 she has competed races of all distances including three marathons and several duathlons.

Robin has always been an athlete, but after she started her exercise routine and healthy eating as an adult, she lost 40 lbs. She wanted to help others and inspire them in ways that were personal to her. “I understand what it’s like to be self-conscious about body image and I want to help people in that struggle.”  When she became an instructor in 2007, she started with indoor cycling. And when she needed a new challenge, she found it with KettleWorX in 2014. Robin currently teaches KettleWorX and Hot Barre at Wilson’s.

“Teaching motivates me to live fitness as a lifestyle. It also challenges me both physically and mentally and I enjoy that added dimension of the workout. Plus, I really like being in charge!“ Above all, she loves her members and the friendships that have come from her classes. And she loves for new people to try her classes. Teaching gives her a chance to be a cheerleader for others in their fitness journey. “It is so exciting to see people transform their lives!” I love for new people to try my classes. I get excited to see new faces, especially at 5:30 a.m.!

Shelby O’Keefe

Shelby is new to Wilson’s this year, but has been a fitness instructor since 2016. She fell in love with group fitness in college and has always enjoyed attending classes. She is a former Turbo Kick instructor, but became certified in PiYo. She loves it because it combines fun, upbeat music with the strength and flexibility of a yoga/Pilates class.

Shelby wanted to become an instructor because she loves sharing her passion for health and fitness with others. “No matter where a person is on their health journey, there is always a way for them to have a great time while being active and moving their body. I want people to enjoy fitness and find what works best for them.” What she enjoys most about teaching is meeting new people and encouraging them to do their best, but still have fun! Besides teaching classes, Shelby loves the outdoors and can often be found walking her dog or spending time in nature.

Kimberly Uffmann

Kimberly Uffmann

Kim holds a certification with Les Mills in BodyJam, which she received in March of 2016. She began teaching for Wilson’s shortly after. “Dance has always been my form of fitness. I danced in high school, and after that, I took classes at MCB here in Columbia. When my class was cancelled, I found BodyJam.” It didn’t take long for Kim to realize she ‘needed’ to become an instructor, she just had to wait for the rest of her life to fall into place before she could make it happen. Her instructor, Kelly Lancey, was a big influence and encouraged Kim to go to training. It was in Kelly’s classes that Kim found a dance outlet where she could really let go and add her own flair. Now, as an instructor herself, Kim loves having the opportunity to encourage others just as she was encouraged. “I want them to come and sweat and get a great workout, but also to have fun, let loose, and put their own feelings into the movements.”

While Kim loves the music and the dancing, her favorite part of teaching is sharing all of it with an amazing group of people. “My Jammers are my family! We support one another both inside and outside of the gym. I can be having the worst day and when I get in that room with them I can feed off of their positive energy! I love hearing how they feel the same and that they ‘need’ their jam time, too!”

Kim is also a kindergarten teacher in Columbia and recently graduated from MU, obtaining her certificate for administration. She lives with her husband, Bryce and fur baby, Maize.

Brenda wanted to become an instructor because teaching comes naturally for her.  She enjoys team workouts and making it fun!  She loves the relationships she has built with her members.  She loves group fitness, and her other passion is teaching first graders!  Brenda has been married to her husband, James, for 26 years.  They have a daughter attending Mizzou and a son at Rock Bridge high school.

Instructor: Amy Eultgen

Amy Eultgen

Amy Eultgen

Amy has been teaching yoga since 2011 and has been on the Wilson’s team since 2013, currently teaching Rooftop Yoga and Gentle Yoga.  She completed her 200 RYT in 2014 through Yoga Alliance.  Amy’s fitness background includes a mixed gym bag of several half marathons, kickboxing classes, cycling, swimming, weightlifting, yoga, volleyball, and anything that gets her blood pumping!

Amy became an instructor because she wanted to co-facilitate the empowered feelings of moving, exploring, and learning about the body, just as she experienced in yoga classes.  Nothing warms her heart more than when people in class ask how each other are doing and genuinely respond.  She loves how this community that has evolved is so supportive and powerful and she is grateful to be a part of it.  “As we each discover more about ourselves through movement and stillness, I can see the ripple effect occur, as we are more patient, honest, and respectful towards one another.”
