A fitness instructor since 2015, Shelby is certified in Les Mills CxWorX and GRIT, Stages Flight, and YogaFit Level 1.  She currently teaches CxWorX, Fusion, Warm Iron Yoga, and Flight.  She chose to become an instructor because she thinks “Group Fitness is awesome – it is the best way to work out, and I wanted to be able to deliver that experience to others!”  She loves the participants in class and the energy they bring.  If a regular doesn’t show up, she automatically gets bummed out.  “They don’t realize I count on them as much as they count on me!”

Shelby played competitive sports growing up, and into her adult years she started to run marathons and compete in triathlons.  She has been fortunate enough to work with and rehabilitate people with cancer, Parkinson’s Disease, and other chronic illnesses.  She has a passion for what she does, but… in her dream life, she is actually a professional chef and coffee barista – she loves good food and coffee!

Elise Mosbacher

Elise isn’t only a Pilates instructor, she’s also a professional ballerina with the Missouri Contemporary Ballet, currently in her 9th season with the company!  She also teaches advanced levels of ballet at the School of Missouri Contemporary Ballet.

An integral part of her training is Pilates. “I have always had a strong appreciation of Pilates because it is geared towards dancers in the low impact and physically therapeutic foundation in which it was formed.” She practiced Pilates under her director at the Missouri Contemporary Ballet who taught that the modality is amazing for dancers to build strength, prevent injury and enhance recovery. Elise attended Pilates classes at Wilson’s and became ‘hooked.’ Her instructor and mentor encouraged her to become a teacher herself. The more she trained, the more she fell in love. She’s been teaching at Wilson’s since the summer of 2014.

“I love teaching something that is so dear to my heart in a sense that I have a personal success story in what Pilates has done for me physically and for my professional career as a dancer.” Elise finds reward in pushing people past their limits, out of their comfort zone, to make marked improvements in strength, control, and confidence. “It’s amazing what people are capable of when they put their mind to it, and I love being a supportive part of that!”

Adam Everson

Adam Everson

Adam is a personal trainer, certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), and teaches Kettle Circuit, TRX, and TBW classes.  He started at Wilson’s in 2018 but was an instructor for three years prior.  Adam has been active his whole life, but it wasn’t until 2015 when he decided to dedicate himself to learning more about the science behind exercise and fitness.  He is also a mental health professional with experience in exercise psychology.  His mental health training has provided insight into behavior change and motivation that he uses in his teaching.

Adam loves seeing people succeed and find enjoyment in exercise.  In his classes, he always tries to incorporate some level of education, whether its what something is, or why the class is doing it.  “Knowledge is one of the most empowering gifts you can give someone, so I always incorporate education as a means of empowering my class.”  The other part that is so rewarding about teaching is the social circle it develops.  “Just through shared experiences and proximity, you get to know the people you see every week for class without even meaning to. When someone is gone, you notice it!  So for anyone looking to find a program to stick it, I recommend coming to a weekly class!  You will begin to build those connections, and you’ll quickly find those friends will hold you accountable.”  Also, Adam enjoys a good laugh so expect at least a handful of jokes every time you take one of his classes!

Kelsey is certified in YogaFit Level 1 and started teaching Fusion at Wilson’s in 2018.  She was always an active person (lot of gymnastics and cheerleading throughout childhood), then began working with a personal trainer after high school.  Her fitness addiction quickly grew!

What Kelsey loves most about teaching is forming new relationships with her class members.  She finds it extremely rewarding that she gets to help them take 60 minutes out of their busy schedules to give back to themselves.  She is blessed to have a job where she gets to walk alongside others in their wellness journeys.  Kelsey’s other job is a massage therapist, so she thinks the two go together like Oreos and milk!

She is a former Turbo Kick instructor, but became certified in PiYo. She loves it because it combines fun, upbeat music with the strength and flexibility of a yoga/Pilates class.

Shelby wanted to become an instructor because she loves sharing her passion for health and fitness with others. “No matter where a person is on their health journey, there is always a way for them to have a great time while being active and moving their body. I want people to enjoy fitness and find what works best for them.” What she enjoys most about teaching is meeting new people and encouraging them to do their best, but still have fun! Tristan Billingsley

Tristan joined the Wilson’s team in 2016.  Certified in Les Mills CxWorx, and Stages Indoor Cycling and Flight, he currently teaches both.  Tristan grew up playing soccer and baseball, then wrestled and ran cross country in high school.  During college he continued strength training and long-distance running on his own and is now passionate about triathlons – last year, he completed his first Ironman!

After college, Tristan made a return to fitness and found some truly inspiring instructors at Wilson’s.  He was very motivated to make big lifestyle changes and wanted to become an instructor himself.  What he likes most about teaching is passing along knowledge and passion, inspiring others to push beyond what they thought they were capable of, and seeing them achieve their health and fitness goals.  He wants his members to know that he’s always there for them after class and is happy to talk, answer questions, and receive/give feedback.

Amy became an instructor because she wanted to co-facilitate the empowered feelings of moving, exploring, and learning about the body, just as she experienced in yoga classes.  Nothing warms her heart more than when people in class ask how each other are doing and genuinely respond.  She loves how this community that has evolved is so supportive and powerful and she is grateful to be a part of it.  “As we each discover more about ourselves through movement and stillness, I can see the ripple effect occur, as we are more patient, honest, and respectful towards one another.”
