Meghan McCullah

Meghan is the Group Fitness Assistant Director.  She is a certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, both through the American Council on Exercise (ACE). She also holds certifications in Oh Baby! Fitness (a pre- and post-natal exercise program); Les Mills BodyAttack, BodyPump and RPM; Stages Indoor Cycling and Flight; Pilates; YogaFit Level 1; and Animal Flow Level 1. She currently teaches BodyPump, RPM, Hot Barre, BodyAttack, Animal Flow, Kickboxing, and Pilates and takes personal training clients.

When she was pregnant with her first child, Meghan was 120 pounds heavier.  “I learned how quickly lifestyle and diet can get out of control.”  Meghan came to work (with her baby) in the Wilson’s playcenter in 2006.  Being in a supportive, healthy environment led to weight loss, fitness, and education.  In 2009 she became a personal trainer and was excited to help others.  She maintained a healthy diet and weight through her other three pregnancies, and her passion for exercise grew to encompass group fitness as well.

“I love motivating people to feel empowered and successful; to do something they didn’t think they could do, or be someone they didn’t think they could be.”  She also finds it uplifting to see the camaraderie that develops within a class, training session, and the gym community.

It was her admiration for her own instructors that influenced her to take the leap to become an instructor herself. “I love having a positive impact on so many people and helping them reach their goals. She has completed YogaFIT Levels 1, 2 and 3, and is also certified by the American Council on Exercise in personal training. She began her fitness journey after the birth of her second child, taking aerobics classes at a local college. For 20 years she could be found on the front row, changing her body, getting stronger, and loving the social aspect of working out; making lifelong friends in the process. She took the leap to become an instructor when she moved to Columbia with her family from Austin, Texas in 2006 starting with BodyStep. In 2007 she joined the team at Wilson’s and helped expand the group fitness program one format at a time, each an exciting new adventure. She currently teaches BodyPump, BodyCombat and BodyFlow and works as the Assistant Group Fitness Manager.

Lisa is a former vocalist and music therapist who brings her love of music and passion for fitness together to motivate her clients, inspiring them to reach their ultimate potential. “I love the electricity that happens when people aspire, together, to conquer their challenges. The moments when the whole room is working hard, when members reach heights they thought were unobtainable, those are the magic moments.” Lisa says the most rewarding thing about teaching is making a difference in people’s lives. “If people walk away from my class feeling empowered, feeling good about themselves, there is no better success.”

Instructor: Mary Meyer

Mary Meyer

Mary Meyer

Mary has always had a passion for fitness, wellness, and athleticism that was driven from playing sports at a young age.  These passions ultimately drove her to the study of physical therapy through college, and she has been a practicing clinician since 2007.  She earned her YogaFit Level 1 certification in 2017 and currently teaches Fusion at Wilson’s.

Mary started practicing yoga in 2013, during a season of some hard changes and health issues.  The environment of hot yoga challenged her to learn how to control her mind, let go of fear and worry, and sincerely be in the present moment.  Practicing yoga was something that brought a sense of stability that she had difficulty finding elsewhere.  As she continued practicing, she noticed the principles that she was learning on her yoga mat began to transfer into her every day life.  In 2017, she was ready to challenge herself to teach others what her yoga practice had given her by becoming an instructor at Wilson’s.

Teaching is great for Mary because she loves empowering people to live the best versions of themselves.  She’s passionate about understanding anatomy, biomechanics, and alignment, and teaching these principles in her classes.  She enjoys leading a class environment that promotes power, curiosity, safety, and self-acceptance.  “Come with an open mind!”

Haley B / Cortney H

Haley B / Cortney H

Either one of these instructors may be teaching the class:

Haley Boyd is certified in YogaFit Level 1 and started teaching Aerial Hammock Sequencing and Conditioning at Wilson’s in 2018.  She discovered yoga during college, and aerial soon after.  She has trained in aerial silks, aerial hammock, aerial hoop (Lyra), and pole fitness.  She chose to become an instructor because she wanted to share her knowledge and passion for aerial.  “Aerial has given me strength and confidence that I would never have achieved with more conventional workouts.”  Through teaching, she is given an opportunity to share her knowledge with others with the hope that aerial can give them the same joy it has given her.

Haley loves watching her students grow; for her, there is nothing more exciting than watching a student meet a new goal or master a trick that they were unable to do the week before.  She wants her members to know that aerial is extremely challenging but it is also extremely rewarding.  It can be frustrating and difficult (especially in the beginning), but if you stick with it, not only will you gain strength and flexibility, you will also acquire a really unique and fulfilling skill.

Cortney Hutson joined the Wilson’s team in 2018.  Holding her YogaFit Level 1, she currently teaches Aerial Hammock Conditioning.  She danced through high school and entertained bursts of fitness throughout life, but had no lasting interest in fitness until trying aerial silks.  The artistry combined with athleticism appealed to her.  Since becoming an aerialist, she has begun cross training with yoga, weightlifting, and running.

Cortney wanted to become an instructor to show people that fitness is for everyone.  “People are often intimidated by the gym to the point that they feel they need to become fit before they can come to the gym to get fit.”  The supportive environment of group classes takes away some of the pressure of coming to the gym.  Cortney wouldn’t be nearly as fit as she is without the encouragement of some amazing instructors – and she wants to pass that same feeling long to others.  What she loves most about teaching is the moment when something “clicks” for a participant and they nail a pose or trick for the very first time.  She wants her members to know that fitness isn’t about how much you weigh or how much you can lift; its a commitment to making the healthiest choices for your physical and mental health.

Patty has been teaching at Wilson’s since 2015. She completed her 200 RYT and is certified in Stages Indoor Cycling and Flight, and Les Mills RPM and BodyPump.  She currently teaches Fusion, Gentle Flow, Hot Barre, RPM, Flight, and BodyPump.  Patty was not a “fitness” person until she started attending Wilson’s as a member in 2014, realizing she needed to focus on her health.  She started taking a yoga class one day a week and loved how it made her feel; how much more productive she was after just one class a week.  Later that year, she took Fusion and knew after just two classes that she wanted to teach it.  She also started running in 2014, with the goal of running a half marathon.  Patty completed her first half marathon in October of that year. In 2017, she started cycling outdoors thinking that she could possibly participate in a duathalon.  That plan had one thing missing though, so she is currently teaching herself to swim so that she can participate in a triathlon!

Patty loves seeing members living an active lifestyle.  “Each person that comes to my class is taking time out of their life to turn the focus on themselves and their health.  For many that is coming at a sacrifice of time with family or other important things happening in their life. I want to provide that individual with the absolute best workout experience so that they will continue to take that time for them!”

Mo grew up playing multiple sports (swimming, gymnastics, soccer, competitive softball), practicing yoga, working with personal trainers, and participating in a variety of group fitness classes.  She has been active her whole life, beginning in the womb.  Her mother was a Jazzercise and aerobics instructor, teaching right up until Mo was born; in fact, she was on her way to teach a class when Mo decided they needed to make a detour to the hospital … so you could say she was born to teach!

Theron came to Wilson’s in 2013 as an ISSA-Certified Personal Trainer and NASM-Women’s Fitness Specialist, and he holds his Level 1 YogaFit certification.  He is a coach for Team Training and teaches Iron Yoga and TRX classes.  Theron is a former wrestler and men’s physique competitor, and also enjoys outdoor fitness activities, such as hiking and kayaking.

Theron wanted to be an instructor to help others achieve goals that they want in their lives that they weren’t able to achieve on their own, at their current fitness level.  He likes to help others and give them his professional instruction to help them succeed; becoming an instructor was a good way to pursue that.  He has been active the majority of his life and enjoys all types of physical activity.  He wanted to help others become healthier and stronger in their lives.  Now what he loves most about teaching is seeing his participants and clients grow to become stronger and more confident versions of themselves.  He finds it very rewarding to see a transformation in someone both physically and in their self-esteem.

Keira Hamann

Keira has been a Wilson’s instructor since 2016 and is certified in Les Mills BodyPump and BodyFlow.  She currently teaches Total Body Workout (TBW) and BodyFlow, and occasionally BodyPump.  Keira grew up active in sports, but upon going to college she didn’t know how to work out on her own. She started taking group fitness classes and, thanks to some fantastic instructors, she didn’t just get a workout, she learned a lot about fitness. She is grateful to have continued to have had so many opportunities to learn from knowledgeable people and grow in her own fitness knowledge, including personal training, active pregnancy and marathon training.  She became an instructor 8 years ago when the small community she moved to didn’t have body pump… so she got certified to teach it herself!  It was a small gym and she was encouraged to explore teaching a lot of different formats, which was both a challenging and fantastic learning experience.
Keira loves teaching group fitness classes because there is such great energy and community.  It really fuels the workout and helps her work harder while enjoying it more. She doesn’t like to just tell people what to do, she wants to teach them about what they are doing and why.  It not only enhances performance, but more importantly, it is so empowering!  She loves watching people try a new class or exercise and see the doubt and uncertainty on their faces transform into amazement and confidence as they progress.

Tina Price-England

Tina Price-England

Tina got her start in fitness in the early 90’s as a group exercise participant and was invited to train as an instructor for a local health club in Amarillo, TX.  She started with aquatic exercise and delved into as many facets of that format as she could find, excelling as an instructor.  Through the years, she branched out to teaching various aerobics, strength and flexibility, bootcamp and HIIT style, yoga, and pilates classes.  More recently, her interests lean toward the aerial arts.

Tina is certified in AEA, AFAA, ICSA Pilates, Moms in Motion, Hydrofit, and Arthritis Foundation.  She has been an instructor for 27 years and started at Wilson’s in 1992.  She currently teaches water aerobics, pilates, yoga, aerial yoga, and aerial hammock skills.  Over the years, she has found that her overall health (physical and mental) is better and she is capable of so much more than others her age because she has stayed fit.  She loves teaching because of the interaction with her participants and seeing them evolve.  As they become stronger and more proficient, she likes to find new or different ways to challenge them and help them achieve their goals.  “Seeing participants’ smiles, hearing their success stories, and watching their confidence grow proves to me that I am making a difference in their lives.”

In her spare time, she makes cakes – big/small, fancy, fun, fondant, crazy cakes!  It started when her son asked her to make a soccer ball cake for his 11th birthday.  She thought, “Hey, I’ve watched a lot of Cake Boss – I’ll give it a go!”  Her background in graphic design and art transferred over nicely and she’s been creating fun, edible works of art ever since.
