MAC CAMPS

Since 2004, the MAC has been providing activity and sports specific camps to Columbia.

MAC Camps not only keep kids active and teach them sport specific skills, they will learn team building skills that last a lifetime. Scroll through the camps below to see all of your camp opportunities at the MAC!


SUMMER FUN & FITNESS
Kids K – 8th Grade 8AM – 5PM  (7:45AM drop off and 5:15PM pick up)

Teaching life lessons throughout camp, our team builds confidence in campers with lots of interests, and energy to burn.

Camps begin May 26th and run all summer long.
Weekly and Daily camps are available and swim lessons are offered with the MAC PLUS Camps.

MAC SPEED AND AGILITY
With Laurel and Chloe Wichmann

JUNE 6TH – JULY 27TH   8 week on Tuesdays & Thursdays Choose 7:00 – 8:00AM or 8:00 – 9:00AM
$225 per camper with online registration Requires current MSM $15/year Campers 8yrs+

Where athletes come to maximize their potential & minimize risk of injury.  Beginner, intermediate & advanced athletes 8yrs up are encouraged to attend.Take a step forward by taking a step back this summer while learning proper acceleration, deceleration, and planting techniques specific to sport. MAC Summer Speed and Agility is focused on the mechanisms behind movement. Over the course of 8 weeks, your athlete will be assessed, re-assessed, and taken through the following:

LINEAR ACCELERATION  LATERAL ACCELERATION       CHANGE OF DIRECTION MECHANICS 
JUMPING/LANDING MECHANICS AGILITY/REACTION TIMING  NEUROMUSCULAR COORDINATION 
FOUNDATIONAL STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

Assessments will take place the 1st day of camp and last day of camp ONLY.  Added Bonus:  T-shirts will be REWARDED to those who complete every day of Camp! (no exceptions)

WHAT TO BRING
Comfortable clothing, athletic shoes, water bottle. We encourage all athletes to have breakfast no less than 30 minutes prior to camp start. Please let your coaches know if you have any medical issues prior to starting the day. Questions:  Contact Laurel lwichmann@wilsonsfitness.com 

LAUREL WICHMANN BIO

LAUREL WICHMANN, MSTeam-Training-Lauren-Wichmann A former college athlete, Laurel earned her degree in psychology in 2014. She obtained her Masters of Science directly after from Northwest Missouri State University before returning to Columbia this Spring. During her time at Northwest, Laurel worked directly under the head strength coach, overseeing various varsity sports and learning what it takes to build champion athletes. She is eager to pass along her knowledge and enthusiasm to help your camper excel and achieve their goals. Laurel is continually challenging herself and will motivate and empower the campers do the same.

SOCCER

JULY 17TH – JULY 21ST Monday through Friday 8:00AM – 12:00PM
$99 per camper with online registration Requires current MSM $15/year

Soccer Campers K – 8th grade will be playing small sided games that focus on first touch, dribbling, shooting and passing.  Individual skill will be emphasized 45 minutes daily including juggling, and Coerver moves. Games and technical skills are to enhance confidence, focus on technique and get lots of touches.

Bring both indoor and outdoor shoes and a water bottle
Example of Day 1 Schedule:  Parents may drop off as early as 7:45 am

  8:00-8:15AM Warm-up-jog and stretch with a ball
  8:15-8:45AM Dribbling touches-focus on controlling the ball with all parts of the foot-inside foot, outside foot, cuts,
rolling the ball, pull-backs, L’s, & V’s.
  8:45-9:00AM  Break
 9:00-10:00AM Small sided games with dribbling emphasize, small goals and small numbers to increase touches &
individual play
10:00-10:15AM Break
10:15-11:15AM Bigger games and more numbers, Fun games!(marbles, world cup, capture the flag etc.)
11:15-11:20AM Break
11:20-11:40AM Kids pick a game to finish in groups!!!
11:40-12:00PM Water, cool down stretch, clean up equipment and check-out procedure

Parent pick up by 12:15 or spend the rest of the day at MAC Summer Camp!  1/2 day MAC Camp available for the week or by day with enrollment of soccer camp.

COACH MASON BIO

Coach Mason is the current Head Men’s Soccer Coach at William Woods University in Fulton, MO achieving the most wins in school history. A graduate of Hazelwood Central High School in St. Louis, he was a member of the 1999 National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship team. Finishing up at McKendree University Coach Mason was a two-time All-American Midwest Conference player and earned a Master’s of Education degree from William Woods University.

  • 18 years’ experience coaching, 12 years as a College Coach, Saint Louis Scott Gallagher Academy player, -2 time All-Conference AMC, NJCAA National Champion
  • National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Premier Diploma
  • NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma
  • United States Soccer Federation National D, E and F licenses
  • Missouri Youth Soccer Association Education Staff Instructor
  • Olympic Development Staff Coach for Missouri since 2009
  • Heads Up Concussion Certification in Youth Sports

WHEN SCHOOL IS OUT…CAMP IS IN!

The campers will play games, do fitness challenges, participate in sports such as basketball, soccer, flag football and more.  Many of the activities will be the same for all ages, however the campers will be divided into different age groups for various activities throughout the day depending on the campers attending each day. The counselors will accomplish all this while living within the camps values of respect, responsibility, health and sportsmanship.

The 2017-2018 school year camp schedule will be available mid summer.
