TESTIMONIALS

Kelly Walker - Wilson's Member
I’ve struggled with my weight for most of my life, even as a child.  As an adult, I’ve lost a substantial amount of weight, but I’d done so using the wrong methods or for the wrong reasons.  As a result, the pounds lost would eventually come back, sometimes with friends.

In 2008, my weight climbed to approximately 230 pounds, the heaviest I’d ever been.  I hadn’t seriously exercised in years and my eating habits were atrocious.  I knew I needed to change and start taking the weight off, but I just didn’t have the motivation.  That motivation arrived on December 23, 2008 with a trip to the ER with what I thought were cardiac symptoms.  Fortunately, I did not have a cardiac episode, but the wake-up call remained with me.

In January 2009, I walked into Wilson’s North, which I’d joined almost a year prior, and announced to the young man working at the front desk that I wanted to hire a trainer.  As it turns out, he was a trainer and I hired him on the spot.  I couldn’t ask for a better trainer for me than Jeremy Martin.  We have an excellent rapport.  He both encourages and challenges me and isn’t afraid to set the bar high.  This is his success too.

Since I began working with Jeremy in February 2009, I have lost 45 pounds and am almost two-thirds of my way to my goal of 155.  More importantly, I believe I can get there.  I’m stronger now than I’ve ever been and I feel great.  I can run just over three miles on the treadmill and am working to run that same distance outside with the goal of running a 5K sometime before the end of 2009.  I’m wearing clothing sizes I haven’t been able to wear in years.  In fact, I find myself needing to purchase a new goal dress because I can already fit into the goal dress I bought last spring.

In addition to Jeremy, the rest of the Wilson’s North staff has been fantastic.  They, too, have been encouraging and supportive as I work to become a better version of myself.
