Travis Ritter

For Travis, fitness is a way of life. A tennis player from a young age through high school, he now actively participates in triathlons. As of January 2017, he has completed 20+ triathlons of all different distances, including 2 Ironman distance races.
Travis uses indoor cycling and yoga to train for races year round. In RPM, the group atmosphere, the upbeat music, and the variations in the releases makes the workouts challenging yet fun. Yoga has improved his overall lifestyle by reducing stress, reducing his chance for overuse injuries, and improving his mental focus.
When Travis decided to become certified to teach Les Mills RPM and Fusion Hot Yoga, he combined his outdoor cycling knowledge with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training to become an authentic and well-rounded instructor with much to offer his members. Now he enjoys helping others reach their goals, facilitating fitness to enrich their lives the way it’s enhanced his own. He’s been teaching at Wilson’s since 2015.  “Don’t be intimidated to try a new class at Wilson’s. The instructors want to help you through, so if a class interests you, try it!”

Tina Price-England

Tina Price-England

Tina holds certifications from Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA), Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), Moms In Motion, ICSA-Pilates, and the Arthritis Foundation. No stranger to group fitness, Tina has been teaching for 23 years. In the early 90’s, she began as a group exercise participant and was invited to train as an instructor for a local health club in Amarillo, TX. It was through her mother-in-law, who is a former fitness instructor with a background in exercise science, and her encouragement, that Tina found a real passion.

She started teaching group aquatic exercise in 1991 and delved into its many facets to excel in that format. Teaching and exercising through two pregnancies, she became more interested in prenatal/postpartum exercise. And from there, she branched out to teaching hi/lo aerobics classes, strength and flexibility, bootcamp, HIIT-style classes, yoga and Pilates. Tina came to Wilson’s in 1992 when her family moved to Columbia from Texas. “Initially I became an instructor because it was a fun way to keep in shape.” Over the years she’s found that her stress is lower, her overall health, both physical and mental, is better and she is capable of so much more than some her age because she has stayed fit. Recently, she has taken on new goals and interests such as running half marathons and learning and performing aerial arts.

Tina currently teaches aquatic exercise and aerial yoga. “What I like best about teaching is the interaction with my participants. Seeing them evolve and become stronger and more proficient motivates me to find new or different ways to challenge them and help them achieve their goals. Seeing participants’ smiles—or grimaces—and their watching their confidence rise proves to me that I am making a difference in their lives.”

“I had been taking yoga for several years, and wanted to deepen my practice with a training, which soon led to teaching. I like to keep my class interesting and new, which motivates me to continue to investigate yoga for myself.”

Brooke loves hearing her members say, ‘This is cheaper than a vacation,’ or ‘I wait all week for this class!’ Knowing she’s helping people de-stress and better their lives is the most fulfilling part of teaching.

Betty Bohon

Betty Bohon

Betty is certified through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) in Group Fitness, Les Mills in RPM and BodyVive, and has trained for BOSU and TRX. A fixture at Wilson’s Fitness since 1996, her teaching career began in the early 80’s. She’s taught multiple formats, including step, ‘slide’ and group racquetball and currently teaches RPM and BOSU along with Hot Barre in the hot studio.

Though Betty was athletic as a child, her real start with fitness began when she was 29. After having her first child she began jogging to lose weight. Then she started running races. Then marathons, including the infamous Boston Marathon. She  also played competitive women’s racquetball, biked the MS 150 and took aerobics classes. Betty chose to become an instructor when coaxed by an instructor to channel her passion for working out. “I love sharing the knowledge I have acquired along the way and watching people see that fitness is fun; it gives you energy and makes you feel great!” She wants her members to get excited about living a healthy lifestyle and be good examples for their families and friends, too.

What Betty loves most is motivating people to believe they have an inner athlete, that they can become fitter, and it is never too late! Since she was almost 30 when she began, she inspires her participants simply by walking the walk. “If I can inspire just one person to get healthier each time I lead a class, then I am fulfilled. I have done the job that I love so much.”

Lisa Kent

Lisa holds certifications in Les Mills BodyStep, BodyPump, BodyCombat, BodyFlow, BodyVive, YogaFIT Level 1, BOSU and Practical Pilates. She is also certified by the American Council on Exercise in personal training. She began her fitness journey after the birth of her second child, taking aerobics classes at a local college. For 20 years she could be found on the front row, changing her body, getting stronger, and loving the social aspect of working out; making lifelong friends in the process. She took the leap to become an instructor when she moved to Columbia with her family from Austin, Texas in 2006 starting with BodyStep. In 2007 she joined the team at Wilson’s and helped expand the group fitness program one format at a time, each an exciting new adventure. She currently teaches BodyPump, BodyCombat and BodyFlow and works as the Assistant Group Fitness Manager.

Lisa is a former vocalist and music therapist who brings her love of music and passion for fitness together to motivate her clients, inspiring them to reach their ultimate potential. “I love the electricity that happens when people aspire, together, to conquer their challenges. The moments when the whole room is working hard, when members reach heights they thought were unobtainable, those are the magic moments.” Lisa says the most rewarding thing about teaching is making a difference in people’s lives. “If people walk away from my class feeling empowered, feeling good about themselves, there is no better success.”

Amanda Bruns

Amanda knows how to bring fun to fitness, and, as a former competitive swimmer, runner and rower, she knows how to push her body to the limit. Applying that combination to her teaching makes her members work hard and love every minute of it. Amanda has been teaching at Wilson’s since 2013 with a certification in Les Mills Sh’Bam. She also teaches Hot Barre in the hot studio.

Group fitness helped Amanda appreciate all her body does for her. “I wanted to be an instructor in hopes of giving back and helping others feel the same appreciation.” The best thing she likes about teaching is ‘getting goofy and sassy’ in order to put smiles on the faces of her participants. “I love getting to know members. If you ever want to talk fitness and fun, by all means, come talk to me.”

Vesta is certified in Les Mills BodyPump, teaching at Wilson’s since May of 2014. She’s always been passionate about fitness and decided to join Wilson’s in 2010. Vesta quickly fell in love with group fitness classes and became a frequent class hopper! She loves how motivating the classes are and how they get people excited about fitness! “Group fitness challenges me and makes me push myself more than I would normally push myself.” Deciding to become a group fitness instructor was an easy decision. Teaching comes naturally to Vesta, who is a Kindergarten Teacher at Mill Creek Elementary. She enjoys teaching the “big kids” in her free time!

“I consider fitness a passion of mine because I know I feel the difference when I take care of my body. This includes mentally and emotionally! I want to share this with others.” Over the last few years, healthy eating and exercise have become a high priority in her life. Vesta enjoys running half marathons with her husband and trying lots of new recipes! Eric Blumberg

Eric has always worked out at the gym, but it wasn’t until 2010, when he got bored on the treadmill, that he attended classes. After a few years as a participant he was challenged by another instructor to take the next step in his fitness career and train as a coach. Eric rose to the challenge and hasn’t stopped since. He now holds three certifications through Les Mills; GRIT, BodyPump, and CXWorX and has been teaching all three classes at Wilson’s since February 2013.

Eric enjoys getting to know his members, watching them get ‘addicted’ to the workout and change their bodies, just like he did. “I like to work out in a team environment. The people in my class push me just like I push them.” As a former TV sports reporter who now makes videos at Veterans United Home Loans, this media buff promotes his classes on social media and uses Facebook groups to communicate and create personal relationships. “I do my best to inform and entertain my class as their coach.”

Stephenie Carlson

Stephanie is certified in Les Mills Sh’Bam, Born to Move, and most recently, she passed initial training for BodyStep and will complete the certification process soon. She currently teaches Sh’Bam and Born to Move. Always interested in fitness and conscientious about her health, Stephanie grew up dancing and cheerleading. She stayed relatively active, but usually exercised on her own and didn’t discover group fitness until February 2014, during Wilson’s Fitness for a Cure. That’s all it took for her to fall in love. She became certified to teach Sh’Bam in 2014 shortly after and has been teaching and adding to her qualifications since.

Stephenie has always been a helper; someone who wants to motivate others to be the best version of themselves. She became an instructor to ignite the spark in others that makes them fall in love with life; the same spark she found in group fitness. What she loves best about teaching is, hands down, the people. The wonderful friendships she’s built keeps her coming back, even when she’s having a particularly rough go of it. Watching everyone dancing along and just having fun during class powers her through the rest of her day. “When you find something that does that, you have to go for it. Take your time and let that fire grow. It can lead you to places you never expected, and it can change your life.”
